XM and Audiovox bring us yet even a smaller XM Radio. The XM Passport is an actual XM tuner that resembles an SD card but is a bit larger at 1.3 inches wide, 1.65 inches long, 0.44 inches thick. Like an SD card, the XM Passport can be removed from one device and placed into another. Let’s say you have a home receiver with the appropriate slot and that XM Ready logo and you want to go to the beach but want your XM, too. Remove the XM Passport and bring it with you! Best part is you don’t have to wait until you get to the beach to use it on your XM Ready boombox, you can also use it right away in your XM Ready car stereo!
With the Passport, you’ll be able to use it on a variety of other components such as a home theater systems, DVD players, bookshelf systems, clock radios, and even the new Samsung Nexus XMP3 DAP. One Passport gives you many possibilities. Find the right hotel with the XM Ready clock radio and now you can bring your XM in with you while on travel.
The best part about the XM Passport is you’ll only need one XM account for this card. I have three accounts; one for each car and one for my XM PCR. Not wanting to get yet another $7 ding a month, I’ve held back on the home receiver but now with this option, it makes it more compelling to have a “roamer” account.
The XM Passport will cost a mere $29.99 and the home and car docking stations will also be $29.99 (each.) Look for these when the birds come out and the flowers bloom in the spring.

Your description of XM Passport is the best on the web. You show the practical aspect of the end use of this device. I mistakingly purchased XM Passport and I wasn’t aware of what I had purchased. I was merely needing to replace my existing faulty Roady2 unit. I nearly took it back to Sears for exchange until I read your comments. I will be better off in the long run to hang on to the Passport and begin looking for compatible devices.
