The Power Brick Gets Some Tentacles

  • No Related Post

CES is a place where new innovating products reveal themselves for the first time of its product life. Coming just a week after Christmas, this new innovation may be finding itself in the home of many thankful parents with children whom received a million gadgets… with a million power cables.

Let’s face it, power bricks don’t work since every manufacturer puts the DC converter in the plug itself. That means big bulky plug heads that end up taking three positions on the brick. What a waste. I’ve used six inch extension cables to help solve this problem and it does work. I guess Flexity saw the same cables and figured, ‘Why not just make that part of the power supply?’ I agree and what a good idea that was. Hence the birth of the PowerSquid Power Protector. Ain’t in pretty? The geek in me likes the power indicator LED’s at the end of the power strip heads. :)

There’s no pricing available on this neat power strip, but it will be out some time in the second quarter and you can sign up for a newsletter to be informed when you can buy one - or two - for your kids’ junk gadgets. :)

UPDATE: Reader Arkady sent me a note to say that ThinkGeek is already shipping these babies. Thanx for the tip!
