Watch iPod Videos on 105-inch Display

The iPod video is pretty snazzy and while it’s received a lot of applause for its small screen, fact is, it is still small. The only way to get a big image off of it is to plug it into another monitor. Not practical if you’re on the go, especially if you’re on the subway. But now a Washington based company (no, hot Microsoft) wants to bring the big screen to your eye.

eMagin Corp. will be showing off it’s EyeBud 800 at this weeks CES. It’s a little screen that’s smaller then the size of a quarter that attach’s to a headband which puts the screen right in front of your eye. This creates the same effect as if watching a 105-inch LCD screen from 12 feet away. But, you’ll have that large view in a small package. So, ya, you will be able to watch big-screen video from your small screen iPod! But it’s a bit pricey. In fact, it costs more then your iPod did. Like $599. Ouch. But if you think about it, what would a 105″ LCD cost? Think how costly those Apple Cinema HD displays are. Twice the cost of the EyeBud.

I’ll be sure to stop by and check this out at CES and let you know what I think. While it’s not out until mid-year, I may max out my Visa in pleas to bring this bad boy home if it rocks that much! :)
