Sony Stomps Apple’s NAND Order

Sony isn’t taking Apple’s memory deal with Samsung too lightly and has just inked a $1.8 billion deal with Samsung to grab a fifth of all memory Samsung makes for Sony’s PSP. Sony expects to sale 20 million PSP’s next year and will need lots of memory for those units. Sony can not afford to hold back production due to inventory shortages. This mega-deal with the South Korean memory manufacturer should help insure that does not happen for Japan’s second largest electronics company.
