Griffin Keeps on Trippin’

Looks like Griffin has no plans on stopping to make the iTrip line a successful part of its iPod accessory line. Griffin has just released iTrip Auto. Like Monster’s iCarPlay, iTrip Auto connects to the bottom of your iPod and thus uses the line out for grabbing your music. This means you get a cleaner sound and do not have to fret with the volume on the iPod itself. Since the connector port is used this also means the iPod can be charged as well, a first for the iTrip family.
The iTrip Auto looks as menacing as Stealth Bomber. It’s black and sleek and looks great just like the rest of the members of the iTrip family. Attached in between the iTrip Auto’s DC connector and the dock connector is a small LCD screen with a few buttons. Those buttons enable you to find the right frequency for your iPod to play its music on. Like the other newer iTrips, this one also has LX and DX modes as well as support for US and International frequencies. That’s where it one ups the Monster iCarPlay.
How will it stack up against the rest of the FM transmitters? Time will tell and I’m sure I’ll be back by the end of the week with a link to the first review. :)
