Looks like the Motorola Q is close to being released as the FCC has approved it for use. In the pictures, as seen on phoneArena.com, it clearly shows the Verizon logo and thus you can expect this to be released in the first quarter of the new year.
This leads to some interesting thoughts as the Treo 700w, which Verizon has officially announced, will be popping up in the red and white Verizon stores across the nation at about the same time. Since Verizon has held off on releasing hot hardware within the same time frame in the past, it will be interesting to see who has more pull with the East Coast based cellular carrier, Motorola or Palm. Since the Treo and the Q are basically the same beast, I’m excited more about the Moto then the Treo due to Motorola’s excellent reputation for signal reception. Every Moto phone I’ve ever owned has always had kick-butt signal strength. Let’s see if it prevails here, too.
