You DJ? Then iDJ!

A couple of years ago I did a DJ gig for a friends wedding. I used my laptop and my iPod to throw down the jamz on the disco floor to get the place jumping. No CD player and definitely no turntable. I wasn’t in the mood to play Mix Master Mix. As I was hooking up the iPod to the mix board, I was thinking how nice it would be if I had had two iPods and a board made for them and that’s it. That way all I would have needed was the board, two iPods, an amp, and speakers. Oh ya, the mic and headphones, too. But talk about a small load. That would have been nice.
Well nice is here and it’s called iDJ. The latest iPod accessory for DJ’s will help lighten up your load and increase your mingle time as your playlists will all be set and ready to go before the main event even starts. The iDJ comes with all sorts of features such as a three band EQ (per iPod,) full iPod navigation on the mixer, mic inputs, ability to record audio on to the iPod, as well as, “turntable spindle receptacle enables placement of the iDJ on a turntable.” Dude, it’s even got a Kensington security slot which keeps your iDJ safe while you go take a leak. The iPods themselves are a different story, though. :)
For less then the price of one 30GB 5G iPod, you can walk out of the ThinkGeek online store with an iDJ today. Get it for your favorite disc jockey this Christmas or get it for yourself, Dr. Don. This won’t make you a Steve Masters, but it will at least make you more efficient with your iPods when the dance floor calls!
