Two DAP’s That Make You Say, “Mmmm”

  • No Related Post

So you’re looking for something different for your next DAP. iPod’s are too trendy for you. You’re looking for something a little retro, maybe.

Welp, if you can read German (though the pix are in English ;) ), then you may want to check out the NESamp MP3 Player. This is an MP3 player that is packed into an actual NES controller that surely will bring back some good memories as you jam to “The Pac Man” song while reliving your your glory days of the 80’s.

Okay, not looking for a DIY set-up but still want something unique upon these shores? Can I interest you in something across the Channel from the Fatherland that comes from a company that once had a large PC base on this side of the Pond? Yes, you remember Packard Bell and now they want to be an AudioStar. It will play MP3’s and WMA DRM based music (stuff you get from Napster and the sort) from it’s 1GB of memory. Transfers are handled via the USB 2.0 connection. But if 1GB isn’t enough, according to their web site, you can upgrade it. How, I don’t know as there doesn’t seem to be any slots for external memory. So maybe it’s a SO-DIMM thing. Or maybe you have to really know what you’re doing with a soldering iron. Remember, this is Packard Bell. ;)
