Cingular Raises the Bar with a New-Old Name

Boy, talk about stupid. After Cingular spent who knows how many millions on the “Raising the Bar” campaign after acquiring AT&T Wireless, SBC’s CEO and Chairman Ed Whitacre says they’re going back to the AT&T name!
Now since other Baby Bell BellSouth was involved in this Cingular bar thingy, going back to AT&T may not be good for SBC’s and BellSouth’s relationship though spokesman Jeff Battcher of BellSouth said, “”This is not an issue.” Ya, maybe not yet, but I’m sure it will be soon enough as SBC is slowly trying to become Ma Bell all over.
