Samsung SCH-i730 Gets CNet’s Best Smartphone Pick

Having the Samsung i730 myself, I have to wonder what software CNet ran on their pick for Best Smartphone.
Having a sense of humor, I ended up renaming my device Soft-Reset since that’s what I do at least once a day if not three to four times on some really fun days. Sure, I’m a power user and may be a bit more demanding then others, but I’ve got to tell you, my Palm Tungsten T3 didn’t see my stylus up it’s hiney near as much as Soft-Reset does.
Now CNet’s right on the money with their cons ranging from battery drain, inability to run Wi-Fi and the phone simultaneously, and lack of a camera (even though it’s there!) Their pro’s pretty much hit the mark, too, though I don’t know if the slide-out keyboard is really of any use since the keys are so darn dinky.
All in all, I do like this phone. I don’t think it’s a Treo killer and it may be only missing that mark due to the instability of the Windows operating system. Maybe Windows Mobile 5 will correct that, though I’m reserved about anything being corrected when Microsoft’s name is branded to it. Either way, though, CNet thinks Palm should be sweatin’ it as they boldly state, ” the Samsung i730 stays in the running for the “Treo killer” title.”
