With Palm’s Treo 700w going Windows and PalmSource being purchased by Access, many are questioning the future of these PDA innovators.

We’ve seen Microsoft gobble up its competition in the past (OS/2, Lotus, OmniPro, for example) and it’s any wonder if history may once again be repeating itself. With five questions posed to some Palm developers, their answers may give us a peak into that future.

The recent changes, including the acquisition of PalmSource by Access and the move by Palm, Inc. to work with Microsoft to develop a Windows Mobile version of its Treo smartphone, could have significant impact on the large number of companies that develop software for the Palm OS.
