When Sony introduced its Memory Stick way back in the days of when Compact Flash was king, I was very skeptical. Since then, the gum-stick sized memory has seen some evolution that has made it smaller as well as become quite popular.

But what about compatibility? Well seems like the latest-and-greatest ain’t so great as the 1GB stick just doesn’t even work with Sony’s own laptops! We won’t stop there as Engadget has documented other Memory Stick issues with Sony’s own product line. So, I guess my skepticism remains and I’ll just stick to CF and SD, thank you very much. :) And yes, I do avoid products that use the Memory Stick, though I was cornered on the PSP thing. ;)
