Apple Announces iPod nano

The big September 7 announcement has finally come, and it included the introduction of a new member of the iPod line. The iPod nano will be replacing the now discontinued iPod mini. Why? Well, the iPod nano is tiny, coming in at just 1/3 the size of the discontinued iPod mini. It weighs just 1.5 ounces, and provides a 14-hour battery life.

The new iPod will sell for $199 for the 2 GB model, and $249 for the 4 GB version. A dock is available separately at $29. While the nano is not available in as many colors as the iPod mini, you do have a choice between black and white.
