Maps from the web have been around nearly as long as the world wide web itself. I can still remember the first time I used MapQuest and smiled when it quickly mapped out my route before my eyes. Things got even better when turn-by-turn directions blessed our browsers and now you can find things from ATM locations to caffeine stops in the form of a Starbucks icon on the once dull looking map. So what’s one to do when such a peak is reached? Show the mess! That is, the traffic mess. Yahoo! Maps now gives you traffic reports on your map for most metropolitan cities in the nation (check out my old stomping grounds.) Giving you the 411 on the incidents occurrence and clean up as well as the average speed of your favorite thruway, Yahoo! Maps really adds a new dimension to an already useful — and now taken for granted — tool!
