Charge In 6 Minutes for 10 Times the Total Charge

Two things I’ve heard since I was a kid is that battery and auto companies are in cahoots with each other. In the case of cars, the story goes that they could have made engines that went three times the distance on half the gas decades ago. In fact, I’ve even heard the one about a guy who made his car run on water. Ya, H20. Of course he died and the plan for the engine burned or something like that.

The other story you hear is the one about how battery companies will never improve their product in fear that sales will vastly decline due to the lesser need for batteries. Ya, that’s true, people will need batteries less, but, um, don’t you charge more for better things? Anyway, there’s one company that’s not listening to that folk lore and they’ve just created the sweet-to-eat lithium-ion battery that’ll blow your mind. Altair Technologies has just created technology that may just smoke the Energizer Bunny as road kill when it runs over it with their amazing breakthrough!

“A rechargeable battery that can be fully charged in just 6 minutes, lasts 10 times as long as today’s rechargeables and can provide bursts of electricity up to three times more powerful is showing promise in a Nevada lab. . . . The crystalline surface of a carbon anode is susceptible to damage by the repeated temperature changes that occur as the battery is used and recharged. This limits its life to around 400 charging cycles. The more rugged lithium titanate anode should make it possible to recharge the battery as many as 20,000 times.”

What Do You Think?
