The “New” iPods

Ya, I’m sure everyone in the world has heard about the new iPods but truth is, nothing new really happened. If anything, you now get less! Sure, there’s a 6GB mini now, which is nice, and a cheaper 60GB photo (which is way nice) but removing all the extras from it is kind of a sneaky way of going about it, Apple!

The only new thing truly is the ability to download and view photos from your digital camera straight to the iPod photo via an accessory cable that’ll cost you about $30 (again, not included.) Funny how I asked Belkin at Macworld about being able to do this very thing with its product or card reader and the answer, of course, was no. I wonder if now it’ll be able to pull it off with the new firmware living in the “new” iPod photo. I’m sure we’ll see very soon as Belkin is one of the premiere accessory vendors for the iPod.

As predicted, no Bluetooth iPod announced today. It’s still in the pipes, folks, so don’t get your knickers all mucked up. It’s coming, trust me, it’s coming. :) I would gather this is one reason the 60GB iPod photo was reduced in price so significantly because when the 80GB iPod Bluetooth comes out, shell shock would certainly hit a lot of excited buyers when they saw something priced about another $150 than the previous photo price. Hope Sony’s iPod “killer” III has got Bluetooth or at least a PSP built-in because Apple’s next onslaught is coming, baby!
