Siemens Closing Up Shop

  • No Related Post

We haven’t heard anything recently from the Siemens cell phone folks, and the reason that has just become apparent is that they are throwing in the phone towel.

Their mobile division lost 140 million Euro (about $182,601,993.0840) in the last quarter alone. If I had a cell phone division, I’d shut it down too if it lost that much money.

The closing brings up the debate over how many of the numerous cell phone manufacturers will survive and how many will fail to make sense to their parent companies.

I’ve never had a cell phone from Siemens, and never knew anybody that mentioned anything about the quality (or lack of quality) in the Siemens line of phones.

It’s a sad, sad day in the world of the cell.
