So you got the new spiffy Treo 650. You’re loving the new hi-resolution screen. You’re diggin’ the updated PalmOS. Battery life
seems better then the 600, too. You’re also feeling way cooler using your Bluetooth headset while making calls. But there
seems to be one major problem with your new Treo, and that’s the lack of Wi-Fi. Why can Bobby surf the Web at Starbucks and you
can’t? Well, don’t fret; shadowmite has done you a favor and hacked
palmOne’s Wi-Fi SD card drivers. Yup, go get his hack and you’ll be back!
Now shadowmite isn’t asking for a monetary hit straight up; his driver hack is a free download. However, he won’t mind some seed
money to better this driver. Why do I say better it? Well, there’s one slight problem with homie’s driver: it disables your
cellular-wireless connection. Ooops. Yeah, that means no 1xRTT or GPRS (depending on your provider) for ya. Don’t worry, though,
your phone telecommunications still will work properly. The only way to regain that beloved slow connection is to un-install
the driver and do a hard reset. Kinda sloppy, but if you really have to show up Bobby, this is the only way to do it, for now. You
can always have two backup profiles that contain the driver installed and un-installed and just swap between the two while in
Starbucks. Bobby won’t notice, but he will notice the Wi-Fi SD card sticking out of your SDIO slot and see your big grin as you
