Looks like Verizon doesn’t like the idea of being number two and maybe the number three cellular company for this great nation.
Nope, they’re not taking this Nextel-Sprint merger talk lightly. Verizon rang up Britain’s Vodafone, joint owner of Verizon
Wireless, and asked if it would be interested in grabbing some fish and chips and maybe another CDMA wireless company.
“Jolly-Oh!” could be imagined was the response from over the pond and it looks like Sprint may get a bid from Verizon in the
coming days or weeks.

This merger would make a lot more sense than with Nextel. While the AT&T and Cingular merger wasn’t the smoothest thing to happen,
it certainly wasn’t the worst, either. Most friends of mine on AT&T didn’t even realize the merger was done until they glanced at
their phone one day and saw “Cingular” on their display. I see that kind of seamless transaction with Verizon.

So, who will win? The beep-beep or the nerd? Well, remember, Verizon does have the voice of Darth Vader on its side, so I think
those three guys in the office dancing to Salt-N-Pepa really don’t have a chance. “Oooooh baby-baby! Get up on this!”
