In a partnership between The Wall Street Journal Online and Summus, there is now a mobile edition of the Journal that can be enjoyed right from your mobile device.
Pretty snazzy idea actually, it shows that traditional media is beginning to wake up and realize that adapting is the answer to retaining readership.
While all IT people may not be Journal readers, there are certainly enough business suit types that the mobile edition of the Journal makes a lot sense.
Raleigh, NC and New York (November 30, 2004) The Wall Street Journal Online at WSJ.com, the largest paid subscription news site on the Web, and Summus, Inc. (USA) (OTCBB: SUMU), a leading provider of mobile media applications, today announced the launch of a new mobile edition of The Wall Street Journal Online. Developed by Summus, “The Wall Street Journal Mobile” will provide up-to-the-minute business and financial news from the Online Journal, along with comprehensive market, stock and commodities data, plus personalized portfolio information–directly to a cell phone.
“The Wall Street Journal Mobile” will be available widely via most major U.S. wireless carriers beginning in early 2005 for a monthly subscription price of $3.99, billed by the carrier.
