Gmail Coming to a PDA Near You

Google announced on Wednesday that it will be extending Gmail to
handheld devices and adding access to e-mail applications - including
Microsoft’s popular Outlook - in the latest Gmail upgrade. From Yahoo! News:

The Web search leader said it is rolling out POP (post office protocol)
support that enables Gmail customers to download messages to Outlook and
other client-side applications. Messages can be read on- or off-line on
such devices as PDAs or mobile phones that feature POP technology.

Google also is offering free automatic forwarding of messages to a
customer’s specified e-mail, with the end result being e-mail portability.

Gmail, launched in April, lets users search through their messages, and
includes 1 gigabyte of free storage. It is recognized as the first
webmail service to integrate e-mails with search capability. [Full source]
