Fossil Wrist PDA Returns

Sure, the idea of a wrist bound PDA might seem cool, but is it really that practical? I mean seriously, can you sit there and tell me that having a PDA watch is going to be comfortable to use and wear? I doubt it.
I think that reducing size is fine. I also believe that putting them into backpacks and handbags might also be in order. But to try to use a mobile device on my arm just seems a little too distracting to me.
Back in late 2002, Fossil made headlines when it announced the Wrist PDA, a watch that was going to run a full version of the Palm OS (see picture below). This device even won a Best of Comdex award.
Unfortunately, Fossil ran into production problems that kept pushing back the release of this model until, in September 2003, Fossil announced the Wrist PDA was indefinitely delayed.
However, that wasn’t the end of the story. In January of this year, a Fossil spokesperson told InfoWorld that his company hasn’t given up on the idea of a Wrist PDA, and was working on a new design.
The spokesperson wasn’t willing to give InfoWorld any details about the next generation of Wrist PDA, but he did reveal that it will still run a full version of the Palm OS and be more powerful that the original version, thus making it more competitive with regular handhelds. The original version would have run Palm OS 4.1 on a 33 MHz Motorola Dragonball VZ processor and have 2 MB of RAM.
