CD quality arrives on mobile phones

The Inquirer has announced that CD quality songs will now be available on Japanese mobile phones. To me this is great and all, but what about data costs? The songs must be downloaded and thus raise the insane mobile phone bills even higher. This sucks in my opinion, but that is just me.

KDDI plans to offer a service of 10,000 songs with sound quality so good the music can be listened to on stereo speakers. Users can also use the tunes they download as ring tones. Working with record labels, KDDI plans to allow users to download each tune for several hundred yen and eventually expand the database of songs.
