Opera to star in new Symbian GUI

The Opera Mobile web browser has been selected as the default browser on UIQ 3.0, the user interface platform for the Symbian OS, according to Opera Software.
Handsets with UIQ 3.0 and Opera Mobile are expected to ship in 2005. The UIQ interface is used on some Sony Ericsson, BenQ, and Motorola phones. Downloads of Opera Mobile recently passed the one million mark making Opera one of the most popular programs on the Symbian platform.
