According to the Wireless Weblog, federal regulations may soon be lifted to allow for more cell phone towers to be installed throughout the US. At first this must seem like a brilliant idea, but if you think about it, this could end up becoming someones eyesore as one appears in their backyard!
Cell phone subscribers around the country should benefit from proposed federal regulations that will remove a number of restrictions from the construction of cell phone towers. The deal would let tower builders bypass a review process review designed to protect historic properties. If the deal goes through, towers could be built near other utilities or on large commercial properties, such as malls, office parks or large stores, with virtually no federal review.
