How Wi-Fi Can Pay Off

  • No Related Post

Are we getting spoiled with all of the Wi-Fi hotspots out there these days? Sometimes I have to wonder since there seems to be Internet access just about everyplace you can possibly think of. Even in the little town that I live in there is wireless access just about anywhere you could want it.

Last month, I took a two-week summer vacation, driving through Northern New Mexico and much of Colorado. What impressed me, aside from the beauty of the two-mile high mountains (and the cellular telephone disruption they cause), was the number of Wi-Fi hotspots you could access from Taos to Durango to Crested Butte. The Internet is omnipresent.

My experience was not (excuse the pun) “singular.” Mobile connectivity is just about everywhere we expect it to be: airports, coffee shops and other eateries, truck stops, and hotels. Solution providers have made inroads selling Wi-Fi equipment for a reason that’s as old as the hills (or, in Colorado, the mountains): Demand is at an all-time high. And, it seems illogical to think that fewer people will be using mobile technology from here on out.
