The Register reports that Samsung has shown the first cell phone with an integrated hard drive. While the hard drive is only 1.5 gigabytes it should pave the way for mobile devices with larger integrated storage.
The Samsung SPH-V5400 handset includes a FM tuner and can broadcast audio to nearby FM receivers. There is also a TV out function which should blur the distinction between cell phones and portable media centers when the internal storage increases. The phone should go on sale in South Korea for about $800 later this month.
