Speakeasy gets money from Intel for WiMax

In news close to home for me today, the Seattle Internet provider Speakeasy, has announced that Intel has made an investment in technology that will change the way the wireless is looked at by Washington cities and counties.
Seattle Internet service provider Speakeasy has received an investment from Intel to test a new technology that could provide wireless Internet coverage to entire cities or counties.
Commonly known as WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), the technology is still in the early stages of development. But Speakeasy CEO Bruce Chatterley — whose company plans to begin technical tests later this year — said it is the future of broadband.
