PalmOne has quietly been telling customers that its pioneering but unsuccessful PalmNet network will cease operating at the end of August.
The service was launched about five years ago to support the Palm VII and, later, the i705 handhelds. It delivered both subscription-based content and enterprise data to users using what Palm called its web clipping technology.”
