EMEA Tablet PC sales post moderate growth

Figures just released for Q2 show EMEA shipments of Tablet PCs posted a 25% gain over the same period last year, but a 12% decrease from Q1 of 2004. Notebook shipments still out pace Tablets 100 to 1 as consumers are voting (with their wallets) for lower prices (Tablet PCs still command a healthy price premium over their mainstream cousins). One interesting fact gleaned from these new figures puts shipments of slates down 45% while convertibles were up 93%. This backs up what I’ve been saying for a while that the trend is continuing for convergence between notebooks and Tablet PCs.
