Buying a New Computer - My Biggest Aggravation!

Getting a new computer is just like Christmas, no matter what day it happens! The excitement of taking it out of the box, drooling over it as you franticly hook everything up, the anticipation of how great it will work are all great emotions. Then you power it up and the aggravation starts. All the trial and demo software does nothing but get in my way. Perhaps a novice user finds them useful. But I for one would just as soon not see them installed.

The first thing I do is uninstall all of the stuff and then enjoy the new computer. But, if I have to use the recovery disc, there they are again.

Why can’t the manufacturers throw in a CD with the sample programs on it? You could install the ones you want and not worry about the rest. If and when you have to use the recovery disc, it will recover your operating system and not expose you to all of that stuff again.

There, I feel better, thanks for listening.

That, and not having a viable copy of the operating system by itself are two reasons not to purchase a name brand computer. Finding a qualified computer builder who will give you a full copy of whatever OS is on the machine is a great way to go. (You usually also get manuals for the items making up the computer as well. Information about what’s inside is alays good.)
