Today I bring you another graphics program that is device independent, and produces graphics that can be sized from small to wall size with no ugly artifacts.
This program is still in the simple stage, so the choices of elements that can be drawn is still limited, rectangles, circles, ellipses and paths. But the big advantage of this application is that you can add animations to vitually any shape. Also the paths can be bezier curves, and unions, subtractions and intersections, so paths can follow virtually any path and not just straight lines. This app was created by an engineer that wanted to produce HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) for his SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. I know all this engineering speak can be a total turn off, but honest this application can be used in regular businesses as well. Can you just image creating a diagram with movement to it sort of like animations in various other applications. Just think how snazy you could make that boring workflow diagram look with shortcuts that could save your company money could be shown with eyecatchine animations.
To be honest, I tried this app and found that it deserves this beta tag, but this Java app can also produce some outstanding diagrams that can be really eyepopping. Especially since everybody and their brother is using PowerPoint(tm). People are getting bored with all the excess stuff going on. This would be something new to add to your toolkit, that could set you apart from the crowd.
This app can be downloaded here .
