Talk about a blast from the past! Run your old DOS games on Windows using DOSBox

  • No Related Post

I just found this really great tool that is Open Source and allows me to run my son’s DOS learning games and my favorite pirate game in DOS!

If you have some really old DOS games lying around that you just have to try again, or if you donate your old son’s learning programs to a center for the developmentally challenged, then this is a tool you need to know about. Set it up for the center where they teach these kids that have been born or made challenged by some accident.

The front end is here.

DOSBox is a SourceForge Project and is located here.

This front end for DOSBox is written in Java.

This URL is a front end that is really great, also.

If you have any desire, please donate as well. Me, I skipped a couple of lattes and sent the developers the money as a small thank you.

Speaking about the long lost past, did you know that GNU sponsors a FreeDOS ?

Here is the link. Although there is no active support, it can support most older computers.
