I am tired from all the rushing around; that’s why I haven’t written for a while. But here I am on Saturday and I am flying! At least virtually and a lot cheaper than owning a real plane, too. This program, FlightGear, is so good that my father (who actually flies a Cessna) even likes it !
The pictures are all realistic, and FlightGear has been given great reviews in Free Software magazine. If you are a Navy pilot or want to be, then you can land and take off from an aircraft carrier. Although there is no rough weather, and no twenty-foot swells like my father claims, it still seems quite fun.
Since the only cost is a download and some space on your hard drive, why not go and at least look at some of the most realistic cockpits around? You can download additional aircraft from a Fokker DR-1 to various jets, and many others in between.
Scenery starts off around San Francisco, California, but the scenery you can download includes the squares on this world map.
