This Java application has been around a few years and has shown nice growth in usability and features. But this is not a tool for a novice. If you don’t know what a critical path is, if you cannot (or are unable to) estimate time requirements to finish a portion of a job, if you don’t know what a Pert Chart is (or how to use one), then you need more experience to use this tool.
However, if you can estimate the time it requires to finish pieces of a project - any project - software, hardware, building a bridge; please consider using this tool.
This app will export to HTML, so you can publish your work to the office group, or let someone know they are holding the project up.
If you are interested in giving this app a try, then visit the Web site here.
It has screenshots to look at, installers to download for Windows Mac OS X, Mandriva RPM, and a Web start demo that you can use without installing anything.
This is not a tool that everyone can use or even needs; how many of us work on projects that include more than five people? For some, however, this tool will be of great help. So have at it!
