Would You Use a Headphone Amp?

I can’t carry a tune. I also can’t hear so well. So, when Burson sent along the HA-160 Headamp to review, I knew that this was a job best done by someone like my friend Imei. Imei was the perfect choice since she has a lot of classical music training in her background. Her ears actually work right!

There are many times when you may have to use some sort of headphones to listen to your music, watch a video or even play a game. However, you don’t want to lose the quality you’re accustomed to, right? Using this headphone amp is literally like sitting in a concert hall. The sounds are so much crisper and clearer… more separated, even. It’s an amazing difference, even to someone who has ears like mine.

This, folks, is solid-state done absolutely right.

I have been working with Chris Pirillo and the LockerGnome team since August of 2007. I've done just about everything you can imagine: writing, community management, social media management, organizing Gnomedex, working with sponsors for the live stream/blog, and so much more. I have learned more than I ever realized I could and am forever grateful to Chris, the team, and the wonderful community we've built. At this time, I mostly handle all of the social media for Chris while also working full-time for a hot new startup as the Director of Social and Community -- building its online presence from the ground up. Life is never boring and never silent, but it's one hell of a ride every moment of every day. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

    Sounds great (pardon the pun), but isn’t $ 700.00 a little steep for a head-phone pre-amp?

be careful with those classical music people…. all that loud classical music ruins their eardrums.
