Liberate Embedded Web Media With Firefox

How often have you been surfing the web only to come across an excellent video or flash movie that is embedded in the page? With no way to download your only option is to return to the same page for repeat viewings. That is, until now.

Any good piece of software has great little features that you discover throughout the life of the product. I recently discovered one of those little nuggets of joy buried in Firefox. By following these simple steps you be able to save any media that you run across on your internet travels directly to your hard drive.

  • Right-click (or CMD + click for OS X users) anywhere on page
  • Select View Page Info
  • Select Media tab
  • Highlight desired media
  • Click Save As…

In the Media tab you will see a breakdown of all the media on the page, where it is loaded from, and details such as if the object type and if it is embedded.

Enjoy!
