Listen To Your Personal Music Library Anywhere

Sometime ago I wrote a rather lengthy tutorial on streaming audio files from a desktop PC to a WiFi enabled Pocket PC, effectively creating an in-home radio station playing your favorite tracks. Of course that stream also works for any other computers connected to your network as well, but what if you want to stream your music beyond the confines of a home network? Several options exist to facilitate connecting you and your music library no matter how much physical distance you put between your home and your ears. Finding the right solution for your particular connection needs is a matter of identifying how much control you want over picking songs and how much control you need over who else may be attempting to access your music library from the Internet. Before you choose a method of streaming your home library, it’s a good idea to understand your options and the potential ramifications. I recently outlined three easy methods of streaming your home music library anywhere in the world, including potential pitfalls and security measures to keep your stream in check.
