Transfer Music From Your iPod to A PC

There are plenty of reasons you might want to transfer music tracks from an iPod to your PC. If your hard drive fails, your iPod may be your only backup. If you purchase tracks from iTunes Music Store, Apple explicitly permits transferring those files to up to 5 computers. You may want to transfer your music library from your iPod to the new computer you just purchased instead of hassling with networking two machines. Instead of easily facilitating transfer of music from an iPod to a PC, Apple takes the more paranoid approach, assuming anyone who might want to transfer songs from their iPod is a thief. The file transfer process is obscured, requiring a number of convoluted steps to extract songs from an iPod without the assistance of third-party software. Fortunately many developers answered this need and have created tools making it easy for anyone to transfer their music from an iPod to a PC or Mac, without any frustrating steps and without the potential for corrupting the song library and wiping out everything on your iPod. Read on for some tricks designed to make transferring songs from your iPod to a PC a breeze.

I have a Ipod Video 80gb and are considering purchasing your software to backup the ipod onto etc.
Before doing so I would like to clarify something with you.
The songs titles etc that I have on my Ipod are in Hebrew Writing. I have purchased from Apple Israel the software to download IpodHE, however this will not covert the titles into Hebrew unless they are imported with Hebrew script.
Does your program enable me to use a Hebrew Font (which I could import if necessary) so that all titles etc will be readable in Hebrew on your program

This is awesome. Thanks a lot Dude. Samuel.
I tried this myself and this works. This cheap just file copying softwares is a big trick to get trojans in PC’s. Then one day you have to recover the PC by resetting the hard drive. Thanks a lot.

This soooooo works! My iPod Mini (4gig) is rather old (like nearly 4 years) and when I first got it, I had dowloaded music from my parent’s computer… and then I got my new computer and put new files etc — but could never get the OLD MUSIC (all the good stuff) off of it before now. This so works! Yay!!

This works but there’s nothing free about it. You can only transfer 1 song with the free download. You have to pay $20 to get the pro. not worth it…

SAMUEL…THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE, IT WORKED WELL IN MY WYNDOWS XP. MY QUESTION IS THIS:
WHEN I GO TO THE IPOD FOLDERS, THERE IS THE MUSIC FOLDER AND THEN INSIDE THERE ARE MANY FOLDER LIKE F00 TO F25, EACH HAVING A PICE OF THE TOTAL MP3. SO FAR SO GOOD, BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY HAVE STRANGE NAMES (FTDF.MP3 FOR EXAMPLE) EVEN THOUGH I CAN SEE THEY CARRY THE REAL NAME WHEN I TAKE A LOOK AT PROPERTIES. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE ALL THE MP3 TO GET BACK THEIR REAL NAMES?? AND ONE MORE…MY IPOD HAS PHOTOS BUT I COULD NOT FIND THEM ANYWHERE IN THE FOLDERS…DO YOU KNOW WHY?
THANKS A LOT

if your running vista:
go to computer, open the ipod drive (f:), under organize go to folder and search options, click view then show hidden folders, the folder ipod music control will come up!
thank you so much!

I did this, I am not a computer whiz, I still can’t figure it out. Might you be able to provide more detail for those more computer challanged? I can see the new music in my itunes library but as soon as I disconnect my ipod it goes away. Somehow I need to move it into my itunes library?
