Antiques Roadshow FYI Launches New Site

  • No Related Post

The Antiques Roadshow FYI site is the online companion for the new series, which is a spin-off from the popular Antiques Roadshow original.

The producers of Antiques Roadshow proudly present Antiques Roadshow FYI, a spin-off series of half-hour programs packed with as much suspense and information as the wildly popular original. Antiques Roadshow FYI airs weekly beginning Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 8pm ET on PBS.

Hosted by Antiques Roadshow’s Lara Spencer with correspondent Clay Reynolds, Antiques Roadshow FYI’s magazine-style episodes give viewers tools to enrich and improve their own treasure hunts and answer the many questions raised by Roadshow: What happens to the stuff you appraise after the owners leave the convention hall? Where can I go to get the best deals? What’s a hot collectible right now? Not to mention, what do the appraisers collect themselves?

Watch a preview here.

Launching January 17, 2005, the complete Antiques Roadshow FYI Web site will follow and extend these segments through lively features that coincide with the PBS broadcasts.

Web features include:

Roadshow Updates - A segment that answers the most frequently asked question of them all: Did the owner of that object we saw on Antiques Roadshow ever sell it? We go straight to the source - the owners themselves - to find out what they did with their precious possessions.

Missing Masterpieces - The antiques trade is filled with legends of great pieces gone missing. Are they lost forever, or hiding in plain sight - just waiting to be discovered? Each week we take a look at one of these lost treasures.

Appraiser Tips - “Market-smarts” and other lessons from the experts, spotlighting what’s hot, what’s not, and other tricky topics within the world of antiques and collectibles.

“FYI” - Want to know when the next big antiques event is coming to town? “FYI” will be an online repository of useful lists, links, and other information related to antiques hunting and collecting.

FYI Online Forum - Log on to the Antiques Roadshow FYI Discussion Board to share antiquing tips and personal stories with fans of the show and other collecting aficionados.

Funding for Antiques Roadshow FYI is provided by public television viewers. Antiques Roadshow FYI is produced for PBS by WGBH Boston. Executive producer is Marsha Bemko. For more on ANTIQUES ROADSHOW FYI, visit the site. Press information is available here.

Many years ago my elderly aunt gave me a print she had found in a granery. It is called Wild Horses. There are two 1 black and 1 white. My horses are running to the right. A while ago I saw my print somewhere with the horses running to the left. Which is the original. I have looked all over the internent to find out. I’d be very grateful for your help.
