Photo iPod

Not long ago, Apple Computer released its new 4th generation iPod. Thinking it was just released, and will not be outdated for a while, I bought one. I just proved myself wrong. There is rumor - and only a rumor - that Apple is in the process of creating a ‘Photo iPod.’
Apparently, the new Photo iPod will have a whopping 60 GB of storage capacity, and will have the capabilities to display pictures on a high resolution colour LCD display. From what I’ve read, the device will cost US$499. This could very well change, and not be an accurate price. It has been said that the new device will have the capability to play music and have an output to your television to display photo slideshows. When I attempted to contact Apple for comment about the new Photo iPod, I received an e-mail with 2 words: “No comment.” I thought I may have gotten a more personal response. Guess not.
Toshiba is in the very late stages of pre-release of a new 60 GB mindrive. Toshiba has commented and said that Apple will be one of the buyers of the new 60 GB minidrive. Apple once again declined to comment on the purchase of the drives. This would make sense if Apple buys the new Toshiba hard drive for their Photo iPod.
Right now, it’s all rumor. This rumor, however, sounds like it could very well be accurate. We’ll all just have to wait and see if this one is a fact or a myth. If it’s a fact, I’ll try and get in contact with Apple to get a unit for review.
