E-Mail:

freeiPods.com

I’ve received tons of emails from readers over the last month or so about the latest thing, freeiPods.com. As with most others I’ve talked to about this, I was sure that it was just another Internet scam. I turned on CNN that night, to find that there was a report of freeiPods.com. They said that it was a legitimate business. When I heard that, I had to give it a try. Now that I’ve learned a lot about freeiPods.com, I thought I’d give you all a review, since I know that a ton of people are still curious about all of this. In effect, the end result of this is that you get a free iPod. You can pick between an iPod Mini (silver, gold, blue, pink, or green), the new 4th generation 20 GB iPod, or a $250 iTunes certificiate. Here’s the rundown of the site:

There are two steps that you must complete, before you get your iPod. NOTE: This offer is ONLY available for residents of the United States

1) Go to freeiPods.com, and register. You’ll have to complete any one of their offers to start the process. They have many different offers available, it just depends on which ones you get to pick from. I went with the ‘Netscape Internet Service’ offer, since it’s free for a month, and Netscape is a company that I could trust with my credit card number.

2) Refer five friends using the referral link that they give you.

Upon completion of the two steps, they send you a brand new iPod. I’ve also heard from various sources that some of the iPods MAY be refurbished. On that note, you won’t get your iPod for quite some time. It takes about one to two months to get it (from what I’ve heard). The CEO of Gratis Network (the company behind freeiPods.com) was interviewed via telephone on G4techTV’s The Screen Savers and basically said ‘It’s free, we don’t understand why people are complaining about it.’

At this point, I have tons of referrals, but only one completed. In order to help me get the iPod so I can fill you in on the rest of the details, please help me out. If you plan to get a free iPod using this method, PLEASE use my referral link.

Overall, this still seems very fishy, and is as close as you will ever get to a pyramid scheme. They are, however, a valid company, and yes, you do get a free iPod in the end. I’m sure many of you still have questions, so as always, please don’t hesitiate to e-mail me.

PS: There is also freedesktoppc.com, and freeflatscreen.com. They are owned by the same people who own freeiPods.com. Exact same process for them. The computers, however, aren’t high end, but the flat screens are good screens.

.::UPDATE::.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL WHO USED MY REFERRAL LINK. I NOW HAVE 6 REFERRALS, AND AM UNDER ‘SEND TO VENDOR, WAITING ON PRODUCT’ STATUS. FROM WHAT I’VE READ ON THE NET, THIS CAN TAKE ABOUT 20-45 DAYS FROM MY CURRENT STATUS, TO RECEIVING THE IPOD.
