Do-It-Yourself External Hard Drive

I recently ran out of room on the 150GB external drive I use to store all my music and video files. My original plan was to buy a second drive, this time using a 250-300GB model for expansion. After careful comparison shopping and some help from some newsletter subscribers, I opted to build my own instead, saving myself over $50 dollars in the process. Even if you’re a total technophobe and would prefer to avoid ever opening the case on your PC, building your own external hard drive is still too easy not to try it at home. Use my step-by-step instructions to build your own external hard drive.

I hope not. It is what I have use as my dedicated music player at home and on holidays for the past 5 or 6 years whenever it was that it first put in an appearance. It contains my complete library of 70gb and of course that can only grow. I only use it for music so I would not want to pay for the whole kit-and-caboodle of an ipod touch or iphone. It also doubles as a hard-drive.
