Picasa

You may have noticed that Google recently bought Picasa. Maybe you noticed the link on the google image search page - or maybe you didn’t. Either way, Picasa is an ‘award-winning digital photo organizing software’. It builds ‘albums’ of the photos on you hard drive, and can ‘watch’ for changes or additions in whatever folders you specify. It’s other strongly touted feature is built-in peer-to-peer photo sharing via hello.com. Oh, and it’s free.

I finally got around to installing it. It looks sorta cool, and is currently indexing my photos. I must say that simple browsing is a whole lot nicer then doing it in explorer. I’ll probably write a more detailed review after I’ve used it for a while, but until then, give it a try yourself. Then let me know what you think.
