Tony Robbins? Not Just An Overzealous Hype Machine!

In keeping with the idea of fun, we turn the attention of the STBoL Guide to Quality Mind Food on to Tony Robbins

I don’t know if it’s possible for anyone who watched late night TV during the ’90s (and I’m talking 3 am late night here – you know who you are) to have missed ALL of Tony Robbins’ famous infomercials.

You can deride Tony for just being an overzealous hype machine, and you would be right; he is an overzealous hype machine, but you would be wrong by tacking that “just” into the sentence. Tony Robbins may be many things, but one-dimensional is not one of them. He’s got a way about him that, within ten minutes, has you catapulted awake from a walking sleep. Grab any one of Tony’s audio sets and be prepared to get that same clarity and focus on the moment that you got the first time you went bungee jumping or parachuting. Yes, that focused, plus he’ll make you laugh at the same time.

It all comes down to the fact that there is one and only one Tony. Others have tried to imitate his style, but no one has yet to come close. His life is a rags to riches to rags and back to riches story that captivates as well as motivates. He makes it really clear that, if he could do it, you can too.

Last, don’t expect that you can just listen to Tony and get results. He’s got stuff for you to do… lots of stuff. He’s not going to just say, “do this” and expect that you will hit pause and get right to it. There is a full understanding that when he tells you to stop the audio and do something, that the first thing you are really going to do is just let the player keep on playing. He will nag you to do what you need to do to get the results you want, because as a coach, he understands that activity brings new results, and thinking about activity brings the same old results.
