Jim Rohn

Let’s talk about Jim Rohn. Jim Rohn is
like the grandfather you wished you had. The grandfather that was always there
with the right funny story. The story that seemed to be perfect, the story
that helped you gain the perspective that you needed at that moment. The
grandfather who knew you had to make your own decision in life, and sadly, your
own mistakes. The grandfather who, after a cautionary tale would say, “Don’t
let this be you,” but after one of your mistakes, never said, “I told you so.”

Mr. Rohn (I can’t just call him Jim, it’s a respect thing) has been around and
teaching for about 40 years. He’s been the mentor of many people, most notably
Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins. If these names don’t mean anything to you, don’t
worry, they will.

The thing I like best about Jim Rohn is his no nonsense way of looking at life.
He’s never forgotten that he started out as a farm boy from Idaho. His
earnest forthrightness, combined with his charm and simplicity, have made his
material a staple in my library. He has the ebb and flow to his voice of a
fire and brimstone preacher, plus he uses a lot of stories from the Bible to
make his points. Normally Bible stories put me off, but from him, I found them
charming. I never felt like I was being pressured to accept his beliefs as my
own.

Now, you can go to his Web site if you want to, but it’s pretty sleepy.
Instead, I’m going to suggest that if you are making less than 150K a year (and
are interested in changing that), you go find a copy of his program The Art of Exceptional Living
and listen to it. Find it in the library, or buy it if you must, but get your hands on a copy and listen to it soon.
