Welcome to Steel Toed Boots of Love, where we understand that when life gets
rough, sometimes you need to be told “Don’t worry, everything’s going to be
okay,” and other times you need a swift kick combined with a loud, “Get up! Keep
moving!”
It’s been said over and over again, “If you want to have more, you must become
more.” I just made that particular version up, but trust me, its been said
lots. So what does it mean to you? It means that this week, I’m going to
talk
about how you can create the time needed to “become more” without having to
take any time away from what you are already doing.
Can you imagine what it would be like to be given 5 extra hours a week?
Doesn’t sound like much does it? What if I were to tell you that you could
take 3 college courses a quarter without having to go out of your way and
have fun while you’re doing it?
Yes, I said fun.
There is something that they call the “University on Wheels.” When I got
introduced to this concept I was amazed at what I could get done with it. I’m
sure that most of you have heard of UOW, but for those of you that haven’t,
here’s a short introduction. If you work, you probably have a 30-minute
commute each way. Listening to educational audio in your car, on your bus, or
on your train can transform wasted time into wild workshops of learning. Plus
there’s an entire industry out there waiting to serve you by making your
commute time educational and fun.
Tomorrow I’m going to start giving you links to places that I have found to be
useful in my quest to transform waste time into useful time. For those of you
who want to play along, send me the URLs of your favorite companies that sell
educational audio programs. I’ve got a couple of companies in mind that I’ll
be telling you about, but if you mention them to me first, I’ll make sure to
give you the credit for finding the site. Is this fun or what?
