Standalone Kanguru

Saw the Kanguru drives a while ago. They’re portable CD-R drives that don’t need a computer. What’s the point to having a CD-R drove without a computer? Well, they’ll both act a standalone audio CD player, and one will act as a DVD player (of course you need a TV too). But here’s the thing that caught my eye - it’s also a flash card reader. When connected to a computer it’ll act as a normal card reader, but it can burn the contents of a flash card to a CD-R without being connected to a computer. I found that very cool.

As a digital photographer I think I need one of these. It would be nice to just take a little portable CD burner on trips - when I fill up a flash card I’d just stick it on a CD. Now if I could just convince someone to get me one - that’s the hard part.
