Ran across Serious Magic today - had heard a little about their products before but never really taken a look at what they have to offer. Now, I’ve never used their products, and I’m not sure where exactly they fit into the whole video production world. Probably fit somewhere in the middle - sometimes useful when doing high-end work, probably more generally useful to the ‘prosumer’ market. But hey, you be the judge.

Visual Communicator provides point and click and shoot video ‘presentation’ authoring. It comes with a green screen - how can you beat that? I’m not sure how literally I take it claim that first grade students find it easy to use - but that’s a least what they were aiming for. Even has a built in teleprompter - do you feel that news anchor inside? You can add other media - sounds, images, text - along with transitions and of course your video.

My perspective - good for quick presentations that don’t have a long life. Like a weekly update, or an online class. Perhaps not the best fit for a sales DVD, or a commercial.
