I’m trying to think back to the launch of Vista to remember the level of excitement of the average PC user. I attended Microsoft’s day-long launch event in Norfolk and came away more excited about the changes in Office, which I received a free copy of for attending, than the changes in the actual operating system. Admittedly I was excited about Vista, until the reality of the OS being a system hog and reportedly buggy killed my excitement.
So far, I personally know three people running Vista, and all three were forced to use it due to recent laptop purchases.
Fast forward to October 26th, and me standing in line outside the Apple store for the premier of OS X Leopard. As soon as I joined the line, I knew that the level of optimism about Apple’s upgraded OS was high.
Result: Every Mac user I know has upgraded to OS X Leopard.
